blackedoutphotoI’m not a social media joiner. I reject most Facebook invitations. I only put my name on things I believe in. In this case, there is something worth talking about.

It’s the Internet Blackout - Protest Against Guilt Upon Accusation Laws in New Zealand, February 16-23. If this is allowed to happen there, it can easily spread around the world, including the United States. The “war on copyright violations” has already reached ridiculous levels with the corrupt RIAA leading the charge. But New Zealand is going too far, with “guilty until proven innocent.”

I’m hoping this protest continues to go viral. If you want to participate, simply change your social media avatars/photos to solid black. Here is my Facebook page. Feel free to grab the black block with this post if you need an image. I’d love to see Twitter filled with black boxes for a few days.
